> To make price list prices depend on a currency, turn on the "Use supplier recommended prices" switch in it, specify the currency, rate and rate date, and enter prices in the currency. The selling price is calculated as "Supplier price" × rate. Changing the rate and clicking "Calculate prices" updates the whole price list.

## When you need prices by exchange rate

You need prices by [exchange rate](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/getting-started/currencies-and-rates/) when a product's base price is fixed in a currency, while the selling price in hryvnia must change together with the rate. There are two scenarios:

- **Supplier RRP.** The brand sets a price in a currency (for example, 50 EUR) and publishes an internal rate every day, the same for all sellers. To comply with the contract terms, you sell at that rate.
- **Your own currency link.** You import goods yourself or hedge against currency risk: base prices are in USD/EUR, and every morning you set your own commercial rate.

**Example.** A shop sells "TechZone" headphones at an RRP of 50 EUR. In the morning the supplier announces a rate of 42.00. The manager enters it in the price list and clicks "Calculate prices": the headphones cost 2,100 UAH, and the prices of all other products of the brand in this price list are updated the same way.

## How to turn on prices by exchange rate in a price list

The mode is turned on with a switch in the price list card. See the separate article on [price rounding](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/pricing/price-rounding/) and how the write-off amount is calculated.

1. Open **Directories → Customer price lists** and choose a price list (or create a new one — see [Price lists](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/pricing/price-lists/)).
2. In the "Main" block, turn on the "Use supplier recommended prices" switch.
3. Fill in the fields that appear:
   - "Supplier currency" — the currency in which the base price is fixed (USD, EUR);
   - "Supplier rate" — for RRP, the rate given by the supplier; for your own link, your rate for today;
   - "Supplier rate date" — the date on which the rate is valid. It also becomes the start date of the new prices.

Two columns appear in the price table: "Supplier price" (the unchanging price in the currency) and "Price list price" (the selling price, calculated automatically): **Supplier price × Rate = Price list price**.

## How to load currency prices from Excel

Currency prices are loaded in bulk by import, choosing the "Supplier price" field for the column with the currency price.

1. Prepare a file with products and prices in the currency.
2. Make sure that "Use supplier recommended prices" is turned on in the price list settings.
3. Open data import and on the "Settings" tab turn on "Customer price list" — details in [Importing price lists from Excel](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/pricing/import-price-lists/).
4. At the column mapping step, choose the "Supplier price" field for the currency price.

> [!WARNING] Do not mix up the fields. If the file contains a ready hryvnia price, choose "Price". If the price is in a currency and must be multiplied by the rate, choose "Supplier price". A mistake gives prices that are too low or too high by a factor equal to the rate.

## FAQ

**What is supplier RRP?**

It is the recommended retail price that a brand fixes in a currency (for example, 50 EUR) and publishes with its own internal rate every day. Partners convert the price to hryvnia at that rate.

**How do I change prices for a whole brand when the rate changes?**

Open the price list, enter the new "Supplier rate" and "Supplier rate date", click "Calculate prices" and save.

**Which field should I choose on import: "Price" or "Supplier price"?**

If the file contains a ready price in hryvnia, choose "Price". If the price is in a currency and must be multiplied by the rate, choose "Supplier price".
