> The list of units of measure in Bimp is set up in "Company settings → Accounting settings": tick the units you need and save the changes; only they will appear in the lists of product and service cards. During import, the unit name in the file must match the name in Bimp character for character.

## Why set up units of measure

Units of measure define what Bimp uses to count the quantity of products and services in documents and in the warehouse. If you set up only the ones you need, you do not scroll through a long list with "carats" or "gallons" in every card, and data import runs without errors.

**Example.** A building materials store sells cement, nails, pipes and tools. Four units are selected in the settings: "kg", "m", "pcs" and "bag". In the product card, the storekeeper chooses only from these four.

## How to choose units of measure

1. Click the company logo in the top right corner of the screen and select **Company settings**.
2. Go to the "Accounting settings" tab and scroll to the "Units of measure" block.
3. Tick the units you need.
4. Click **Save changes**.

The selected units appear in the "Unit of measure" field list in [product and service](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/products/products-and-services/) cards. Other parameters of this tab are described in [Accounting settings](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/getting-started/accounting-settings/).

## How to match units of measure with the import

During [product import from Excel](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/products/import-products/), the unit name in the file must match the name in Bimp character for character. The system treats "pcs" and "pcs." (with a period) as different values, and "m" with an extra space as an error. Before importing, check the spelling against the settings.

> [!WARNING] One extra character in a unit name in the import file causes an error in that row.

## What to do if the unit you need is missing

If the list does not have the unit you need (for example, a "running meter" or specific packaging), send a request to Bimp support, and the specialists will add it to your list.

## FAQ

Write to Bimp support, for example about a "running meter" or specific packaging, and the unit will be added to the list.

**Where are units of measure set up in Bimp?**
