# Providing services: the certificate of completed work in Bimp

> A certificate of completed work in Bimp is a print form of the Sales of goods and services document. The document records that the service was provided, that the customer's debt arose, and the income. Create it based on a customer order, set the actual date the service was provided, save, and print the "Certificate of completed work" form.

## How the provision of services is recorded in Bimp

The provision of a service in Bimp is recorded with the same document as the shipment of goods: Sales of goods and services. It is the fact that the service was provided: it closes the deal, shows income, and creates the customer's debt. The recommended chain:

2. Sales of goods and services [based on](https://bimpsoft.com/en/help/basics/create-based-on/) it: the fulfillment is recorded here.

**Example.** The company "IT-Support" agreed with a customer on server configuration for 5,000 UAH. The manager created a customer order. The work was done on the 25th, so on the same day a Sales of goods and services document is created: the customer gets a certificate, and the company sees 5,000 UAH in income.

## How to create a service document

You can create the document in two ways.

**From a customer order (faster).**

1. Open **Sales → Orders** and the order you need.
2. On the document header, click the **Create based on** icon and choose **Sales of goods and services**.

**From the "Sales" section.**

1. Open **Sales → Sales** and click **Create**.
2. Choose the base order manually so that the customer and items are pulled in.

## Which date to set in the certificate

The document creation date must equal the date the service was actually provided. The document cannot be issued with a future date: Bimp prohibits this to protect against the mistaken sale of services that have not been provided yet. After creation based on an order, the customer, the list of services, and the price are filled in automatically; check only the date.

## How to print the certificate of completed work

1. Save the Sales of goods and services document.
2. Click the **printer** icon on the top bar of the document.
3. Choose **Certificate of completed work**. For a document with goods, choose "Delivery note" instead.

## Where the result is visible in reports

After the document is saved, Bimp updates the reports:

## FAQ

**Does Bimp have a separate "Certificate of completed work" document?**

No. The certificate is a print form of the Sales of goods and services document. Create that document and choose "Certificate of completed work" in the print menu.

**Can I issue a certificate with a future date?**

No. The document date must equal the actual date the service was provided. Bimp does not allow creating the document in advance, so that a service not yet provided is not sold.

**Where is income from a provided service visible?**

In the reports "Sales", "Gross profit", "Settlements with customers", and "Income and expenses", after the Sales of goods and services document is saved.
