Common interface errors: NaN instead of numbers and report totals when searching
On this page
"NaN" instead of numbers appears because of an outdated browser cache after a Bimp update: do a hard reload (Ctrl+F5) or clear the cache. A report total does not change during search because the search field only hides rows; to make the total recalculate, use "Filters".
NaN is shown instead of numbers in reports or fields
The text “NaN” (Not a Number) means the browser is using outdated cached files that conflict with the updated version of Bimp. You fix the error with a hard page reload or by clearing the browser cache. Your data in Bimp is not lost. If an order does not save after you change a discount, see the “Data is filled in incorrectly” error.
Cause. After a Bimp update, the browser keeps taking old saved interface files instead of new ones, and the numbers are not calculated.
How to fix it.
- Do a hard page reload: it refreshes the page, ignoring the cache.
- Windows: Ctrl+F5 (or Ctrl+Shift+R).
- macOS: Cmd+Shift+R. In Safari: Option+Cmd+E (clear the cache), then refresh the page.
- If the text remains, clear the cache completely:
- Windows: Ctrl+Shift+Delete;
- macOS: Cmd+Shift+Delete (Backspace).
- In the data clearing window, choose “Cached images and files” and click “Delete” or “Clear”.
- Refresh the Bimp page.
The report total does not change when I search
The search field in a Bimp report only hides extra rows for convenience, while the overall total at the bottom of the table is calculated over the whole data set. This is not a system error.
Cause. Search works as a record-finding tool, not as a data filter. When you enter a value or a product name, Bimp shows only the matches, but the report data does not change, so the total is not recalculated.
How to fix it. To make the total recalculate for a specific product group or another parameter, use the Filters button above the report table (next to the search field) instead of quick search.
Example. In a report of 200 products the overall total is 480,000 UAH. You type “spoon” in search, and 3 rows remain in the table, but the total is still 480,000 UAH. If instead you choose the group “Eco kitchen accessories” in “Filters”, the total shows the amount for that group only.

FAQ
What does NaN mean in Bimp reports?
NaN (Not a Number) means the value is not a number. It appears when the browser uses outdated cached files that conflict with the updated version of Bimp. A hard page reload or clearing the cache fixes the error.
How do I do a hard page reload?
On Windows press Ctrl+F5 (or Ctrl+Shift+R), on macOS press Cmd+Shift+R. This forces the page to refresh, ignoring the cache.
Why does the report total not change after I type text into search?
Search only hides extra rows, while Bimp calculates totals over the whole report data set. To make the total recalculate, use "Filters".
