How to hide cost price from some employees
On this page
To hide cost price from a role, open "Company settings → Access roles", select the group, set "Hide" in the "Product cost price" row on the "Other" tab and save. The cost price column then disappears from Warehouse, the product card shows "Hidden", and the "Stock movement" report and Excel exports contain no costs.
When you need this
Hiding cost price protects margin data and purchase prices from being copied or disclosed, while managers and storekeepers can still work fully with quantities and the product range.
Example. For the “Sales manager” role, “Hide” is set. The manager sees the product and its stock balance, but not the price the product was bought at or how much the company earns per unit.
Before you start
- Create an access role for the employees whose view you need to restrict, and assign it to users.
- Only a user in the “Administrator” group can configure roles.
How to hide cost price for a role
- Open Company settings → Access roles.
- Select the user group you want to hide the data from, for example “Managers”.
- Go to the Other tab.
- In the “Product cost price” row, in the “Access” column, select Hide. The value “Show” restores normal access.
- Click Save changes.
The setting is universal: it applies in the “Warehouse” section, in the product card and in all reports that contain purchase cost.

What changes for the user
A user with hidden cost price does not see cost data in the following places.
| Where | What happens |

| Product card | on the “Information” tab, in the “Cost” block, “Hidden” is shown instead of the last purchase price and cost price figures |
| “Stock movement” report | the “Show cost” switch is inactive, the report shows quantities only; see Stock movement |
| Export | the Excel file with the product list and the report export contain no costs |

What does a user see instead of cost price in the product card?
On the "Information" tab, in the "Cost" block, the text "Hidden" is shown instead of the last purchase price and cost price figures.
